EOS Answers Six Burning Questions

Questions 1

I’ve had the honor of working with a number of companies as an EOS® implementer. I’ve watched business owners go from feeling frustrated and overwhelmed, to being successful and satisfied thanks to implementing EOS®. Along the way, I’ve been asked a number of questions about EOS® and its components. I thought it would be helpful to devote a blog article answering the six questions I’m asked the most.

I hope my responses below answer your initial questions about EOS®:

Why is EOS® better than the ABC management system?

I am a firm believer in EOS®, all it stands for, and how well it can work. I understand all the content and nuances of EOS®, because I was once in your shoes – a business owner in need of a system to bring my leadership team together under the same, shared vision. So I bring a unique perspective to EOS® – a business owner who years ago chose to use the program for my company, and now an Implementer who helps other business owners use it. I do not comment about other management systems. To do so is unfair to the other company and to EOS®, because I do not have the same level of understanding of other management systems as I do of EOS®. So, here is my recommendation: Now that you know what an EOS® Implementer can bring to your company, please review the ABC system and make the best decision for your organization.

We just need a strategic plan, so can you just teach us the Vision/Traction Organizer?

EOS® works because it’s a single system that directs talent and energy in one direction. It gets everyone speaking the same language and playing by the same rules. It’s successful because it’s the sum of six parts – all integral in your business’s success. The Vision/Traction organizer is important in clarifying and getting your vision in front of your entire organization. But you still need to have other components such as the right people in the right seats, the data to support your decisions, the commitment to quarterly meetings, and the systems to resolve your company’s issues completely in order for your business to thrive. The Vision/Tracker Organizer cannot stand alone.

We’ve used lots of other systems, but then they just sit on the shelf after a while. What will you do to prevent that from happening?

Implementing EOS® in your company is a tough journey and it will become your way of life. This journey is not equivalent to attending a seminar or conference, returning with some really cool ideas, and then either abandoning them or using the portions that resonate with you. I will walk alongside you every step of the way and, if I see your team not doing the work, that becomes an issue for discussion. It is my job to serve you as a teacher, facilitator, and coach – depending on the context. I fail my clients if I don’t provide the highest value. EOS® is designed to be used every day, so it can’t and won’t be forgotten on a shelf in your office.

Who do you recommend I invite to the 90-Minute Meeting?

I recommend you include the team that works with you to guide the company and make the company decisions. For example, the Marketing Director, Finance Officer, an IT Director, Sales Director, etc. If you are not sure you should include someone, I recommend you decide how comfortable you would be uninviting that person if you decide they are not the right person for the team after hearing the 90-Minute Meeting.

Do you guarantee your work?

All EOS® Implementers offer the same guarantee. One of our Core Values is “help first”, which means we provide value before receiving anything. If you do not feel you received value for our day together, then you do not pay me. My guarantee is in place for every day we work together.

Why should we work with you rather than do this on our own?

You can self-implement EOS®. If you do, I recommend you join Base Camp on the EOS® Worldwide website. Here are a couple of considerations as to whether or not you should self-implement. An EOS® Implementer is trained in every aspect of EOS®. We are that objective third party that will challenge your way of thinking about your company. One of my favorite statements is that we “enter the danger”, which means we will bring up the tough issues that, by human nature, most business owners try to avoid. If you hire me as your EOS® Implementer, I will hold you accountable for our work together. You already have a full-time set of responsibilities. My full-time responsibility is mastering EOS® and serving you to the best of my ability.
